City Parks Rotterdam (the best)
Every city has it hideaways. They are general known as City Parks. In the other hand city parks, like NY Central Park, are hard to hide. Does Rotterdam has such City Parks? Lets find out!
First of all the name. Literally its called “The Park”. Easer as this isn’t possible? This is THE Park! It never got named like the other City Parks Rotterdam has to offer (for example the ones below). Seems like this city park is the one and only, but that’s not the case. However this is the most central geographical park there is. So its easy to visit while wandering around within Rotterdam. Especially relevant are a couple of must visits around (or within) The Park. For example: The Kunsthal Rotterdam (Art Gallery). Otherwise there is a lovely lunchroom in the middle of it called Parqiet. And then of course the most famous tower/viewing point named the Euromast. Enough reasons to visit right? In conclusion a perfect city park.

Due to its name (bos is translated as forest) some people see it as a outdoor area, not really as a city park. Most of all its a perfect park to visit. Why? Due to its centred lake a lot of people walk around it. This walk is perfectly facilitated with a lovely cross-walk. In addition there is a lot of space. During the summer its popular to sunbath. Otherwise its a popular music and food truck festival location. Just like the example on our other lists. Interested in a walk around the lake? Take your time. Thirsty? Get some coffee or cold drinks at De Tuin or the more luxury Boathouse.

The smallest and most cosy park? Vroesenpark! This park is opposite the famous Animal Zoo called Blijdorp. During the summer days the park is used as barbecue hotspot. So interested in some cold drinks and some grilled meat? This is your pick! Therefore we advise you to buy some food at the local grocery, just around the corner. But don’t go to late, otherwise this grocery is sold out. Looking for a more easy way to get some diner of cold drinks? Check out the Vroesenpaviljoen. This small pavilion with a cottage has some seats, only not that much. Its not that centrally located, while its more cosy than the other city parks Rotterdam has to offer.
